Turning the Tide for Coastal Fisheries
Though overfishing has severely depleted coastal fisheries, it's not to late to reverse the decline. Inaction will result in costlier and more difficult efforts. In communities where fish stocks have recovered, several common factors exist: strong local leadership, community management, exclusive access, no-fishing areas and enforcement.
