In-depth Interviews: An Update from Osamu Nedlic

Campaign Manager Osamu Nedlic submitted this recent update from his campaign site: "As the Pride campaign manager for the Utwe marine protected area, I conducted the in-depth interviews on the 14th of September 2012. These in-depth interviews are a component of the qualitative research which is mainly used to gain the perspectives and insights from the fishers about the Utwe MPA. The interviewees were selected based on their knowledge of and experiences with the Utwe reef. In addition, they were selected for age and gender representation. There was an elder fisherman who fished for over 50 years who shared his experiences and observations about the Utwe reef. Another male whose age was 39 was interviewed and also shared his observations. The last person was a woman who represented the fisherwomen in the community to share her knowledge regarding the Utwe reef. All of them provided useful information that will be used throughout the Pride campaign in Utwe community."
